A photo collection of the wild flowers in and around our garden, and on nearby walks. Names written [like this] are the ones we have given them as they seem to have no common name. We will try, at some point, to name them all…
Update: we have now added a separate page for the orchids.
First appearing late winter:
daisy and speedwell
iris subbiflora [galega iris] and blackthorn (sloe)
linaria amethystea [galega toadflax] and common fumitory
linaria polygalifolia a yellow version which is usually only found along the coast and sand dunes…
chamomile and primrose
large meditteranean spurge and field marigold
The gorse, of course, can be seen in flower most of the year. Apparently, it makes a lovely summer cordial with a taste of coconut, something to try!
common dog-violet and bulbous buttercup
herb robert and little robin
spanish bluebell and star-of-bethlehem
